Life is busy. You’re busy. There’s barely enough time for school, friends, and work let alone to make super important decisions about your future – like choosing a college, transferring to a new one, or going on to graduate school. The last thing you need is to spend endless hours filling out applications for every school that interests you.

Well, if you’re applying to schools in Texas, you may not have to. With ApplyTexas, you can apply to multiple Texas public universities and many community colleges and private universities using a single application. It’s all part of the Texas Higher Coordinating Board’s effort to streamline the application for more than 200 Texas schools.

How to apply with ApplyTexas:

  1. To get started, visit https://www.applytexas.org and create your account.
  2. You’ll then be asked to complete three sections, which include:
    • Initial screening. Here, you’ll answer a few simple questions like where you are in school and the type of program you plan on attending.
    • Core questions. Then, you’ll be asked to enter your name, address, educational history, college aptitude tests (ACT/SAT/THEA), and affirm your state of residence. You’ll also be asked to list special activities, awards received, and community service.
    • School selection and submission. Finally, you’ll select a school and provide specific information and requirements for that institution, including essays.

  1. Monitor your progress. To stay on top of your applications, log in to ApplyTexas using the username and password you created. Then, use the dashboard to:
    • See the status of your application progress for each school.
    • View steps completed or outstanding.

What to do after your application is submitted

To complete the application process:

  • Send transcripts directly to the school and pay any application fees.
  • Provide any additional support the school requires, such as an art portfolio.

Then, you can sit back and wait for the application decisions, which will come directly from each school. Though the waiting might make you anxious, enjoy the quiet time. The next, exciting part of your life will keep you plenty busy.
